PROGRAM ITINERARY
Day 1: Telupid – Deramakot
1400 hrs: Meet your guide at 77 Restaurant Telupid, located 150 meters from the Telupid bus stop. Enjoy a tea break and get dinner to-go.
Drive 3-4 hours to the forest reserve through bumpy and muddy roads.
Night Drive: Look for wildlife as you travel deep into the jungle in an open-top 4WD.
Check-in: Twin room with an attached bathroom and toilet.
Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2-3: Deramakot
0645 hrs: Gear up for a full day of exploration.
Morning and afternoon walk/drive: Focus on spotting the iconic Wild Orang Utan, Bornean Gibbons, and Maroon Langur. Your guide will also help you spot exotic birds.
Essentials: Rain jacket, headlamp, water, binoculars, insect repellent, and camera. Recommended attire: Earth-colored long pants, short sleeve t-shirt, and hiking shoes.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served in the wild.
Evening: Sit behind the open-top 4WD truck with your guide to search for nocturnal wildlife, including cats.
Day 4: Deramakot - Telupid
0500 hrs: Check out and embark on a morning drive. This is your last chance to spot wildlife as some are still active during this hour.
1000 hrs: Estimated arrival in Telupid Town. Drop off at the bus stop to catch the bus to your next destination.
Activities Overview
Morning and Afternoon Walks/Drives: Focus on birds (Hornbill, Eagle, Trogon), primates (Orang Utan, Red Leaf Langur, Bornean Gibbons, Macaque), and diurnal wildlife (Pygmy Elephant, Wild Boar, Muntjac, Mouse Deer).
Night Drives: Focus on nocturnal mammals (Flying Squirrel, Civet Cat, Slow Loris, Western Tarsier, Pygmy Elephant, Leopard Cat, Clouded Leopard, Sun Bear, Porcupine, Owls, Frogmouth).
Night Walks: Focus on insects, spiders, amphibians, and reptiles.
